If you visit an area above Girona, such Empuriabrava, Girona Airport, is better well placed than Barcelona Airport, which is another 80 Kms, south. Girona Airport Costa Brava, is currently undergoing a major revamp, to it's parking. If you last visited Girona Airport about 2 years ago, you will not now recognize it now.
In the past 5 years, Girona Airport Costa Brava has changed from a small Airport, to a major Airport, with more incoming flights than ever before. For the travel industry, it's great, but if you live close to the Airport, it might not be. One things for sure, the revamp of Girona Airport Costa Brava, has created jobs, and that's not a bad thing.
